You probably know about Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Do you know about #GivingTuesday? It’s a national day dedicated to giving back!
Wish Upon A Wedding is asking you to #DonateYourDate as part of this national campaign. Proceeds will help grant weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and other serious life altering circumstances. Donate Today!
Make a Monetary Donation to Support our Partner Charity Wish Upon A Wedding by Donating your Date (or future wedding date!)
Wish Upon A Wedding is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back, taking place on Tuesday, Dec. 2. This #GivingTuesday campaign brings together charities, families, businesses, community centers and students around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
As part of this national campaign, Wish Upon A Wedding encourages you to “Donate Your Date” by giving an amount that refers to your wedding date. For example, a wedding date of August 9 would be $8.09. Those who are not married are encouraged to donate in honor of a different meaningful date.
Proceeds from this “Donate Your Date” campaign will go directly to fulfilling the charity’s mission of providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-changing circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation. Since the nonprofit was founded in 2010, the charity has granted more than 75 wedding wishes, including 17 so far in 2014.
Those interested in participating can make a monetary donation at the link below and use #GivingTuesday and #DonateYourDate to spread the word.
As we head into 2015, there’s still time to donate your wedding dress to get a tax write-off before the end of the year! We are currently accepting wedding gowns 2008 and newer. If you have a wedding dress from your wedding this year or if it’s been collecting dust from your wedding from a previous year, consider donating your dress to support our cause! 50% of the proceeds from your donation will support Wish Upon A Wedding, which helps provide weddings to those facing a serious illness. The charity has granted over 75 weddings since it was founded in 2010.
Learn how you can Donate Your Wedding Dress! It’s quite simple – download the donation form on our website, pack it up in a box and mail it to us. We’ll send you a tax receipt as soon as we get your dress. If you are wanting to write it off on your 2014 taxes, your box must be postmarked by December 31, 2014. There’s still plenty of time!
