JUNCTION CITY, Ore. — Wedding day is a big deal for any bride but what’s a wedding without a dress?

Hundreds of local women got a chance to find a wedding dress for only $150 at the Shadow Hills Country Club in Junction City on Saturday.

The dresses were collected and sold by Portland-based company, Brides for a Cause.

It’s donating half of the proceeds from Saturday to a non-profit called, Wish Upon a Wedding, which puts on free weddings for couples who are facing terminal illnesses.

Organizers say this is the first year the event was held in the area, but it won’t be the last.

“Hundreds. We had hundreds of brides. We had a line out the door, down and around the corner, so we really pulled out a lot of brides here,” said Erin Scharf, founder of Brides for a Cause.
