PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Brides for a Cause is teaming up with Brides Across America to host a special wedding dress giveaway for five days in a row ahead of Veterans Day.
The event, called Operation Wedding Gown, began Friday and runs through Tuesday, and is giving free wedding dresses to brides-to-be in the military and to first responders.
The nonprofit has given away more than 600 dresses since it began back 2016.
Sana Rheaume, manager at the Portland location, said it’s all about supporting the community.
“Brides have traveled to us from pretty far away to participate in the event, and a lot of people were really grateful to come in, choose from hundreds of dresses in our store and get a free dress to celebrate their wedding, to celebrate their love and to support them in their future,” Rheaume said.
Registration for this event is now closed, but Brides for a Cause is hosting another free wedding dress giveaway in July.
