Brides for a Cause is hiring Sales Consultants at its Portland Boutique!

Our charity bridal store is hiring multiple part-time bridal consultants to staff its bridal boutique in Portland during wedding season!! The ideal candidate will have experience in bridal, though retail/sales will also be considered. Bridal consultants are expected to work weekends. At least 10-15 hours a week with the possibility of picking up extra hours during the week. Starting rate is $15/hr.

Our Portland boutique is open 7 days a week on a walk-in basis. Store hours are Monday-Saturday from 10am-4pm and Sunday from 11am-4pm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting brides as they enter the boutique
  • Explaining the store layout
  • Starting fitting rooms
  • Helping brides try on wedding gowns
  • Picking out and suggesting styles for brides
  • Returning wedding dresses back to the racks
  • Organizing the racks
  • Answering questions about alterations & cleaning
  • Processing payments
  • Filling out sales receipts
  • Bagging up dresses and accessories
  • Accepting dress donations
  • Staying abreast of our current inventory


The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in bridal, though retail and sales experience also very helpful. Those with prior experience working at a bridal store are encouraged to apply and will have first priority. Bridal consultants are expected to work most weekends about 11-12 hours a week, with possibility of gaining additional hours during the week. Hourly rate starts at $15/hr.

Our bridal store atmosphere is very unique compared to traditional bridal stores. Our store provides a relaxed, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Our staff is not paid on commission – we encourage a team environment. We provide flexible work schedules and a balanced work/personal life. Our company is expanding – we just opened a location in Tacoma on January 6th and have plans to open a storefront in Seattle by end of 2017. Come work for a growing bridal business!

Wedding dresses are donated from high-end designers, bridal salons and individuals across the country. The organization has a storefront location in Portland, OR & Tacoma, WA, and also hosts various Road Show events in select cities on the west coast. To-date, the organization has recycled over 6,000 wedding dresses and has raised over $435,000 to charity.
